Residential Solar Power

Imagine...

hands holding sun

Imagine being able to create a residential solar power system that eliminates 120 tons of carbon dioxide with only a 6 kilowatt system over a period of 30 years. Sun-generated power is not only clean, but causes no pollution, noise and has no need for fossil fuels to create energy. This probably sounds too good to be true, but listen to this, you could also get paid by your state and federal government up to 50% of your solar power energy system costs! Now, that sounds like a healthy incentive to not only line your pockets, but help save our earth. Residential Solar Power is readily available to you, given that your home is getting the right amount of un-obstructed sunshine through the year.

You are probably asking yourself how it all works, and if the benefits of harnessing solar power for your home are available to you? Of course with any "outside of the box way of thinking" it all depends on your location, you will need to do the due diligence when researching how a solar powered system will best benefit you based on time of installation and the size of your required system. There are three ways to decide what size system you will need to provide power for your household, those are:

  1. Install as many solar powered modules as can fit on your home's roof - Economically best for your installer, this method of sizing a system may not be best for you. Ask your installer to do a Solar Site Survey and ensure that each module attached to your home is maximizing the net energy output available.
  2. Install enough solar power generating capacity to completely eliminate your electric bill. Your electric company will pay you back based on tiers, find out how your current energy provider calculates paybacks based on the energy your system generates.
  3. Maximize your payback and Net Present Value by determining the exact system size needed - The best way to do this is by determining the Net Present Value of each of your system components (inverters, varying number of panels, installation techniques, and component manufacturers).

Solar power is becoming available across the world, in massive ways that will supply communities and businesses, and smaller ways like home solar power. Imagine using the natural light of the sun to create energy, heat, and power for your family. It is a great way to become a part of the solution to the environmental problems we face. With fuel shortages, economic down spiraling, and international security concerns, the desire for clean renewables like solar is shared by more people everyday. In an attempt to make a better way of life you too can be a part of this movement. If you have ever thought about implementing a solar power system to run your household, there has never been a better time than now.
